RETRACTABLE DOCK SYSTEMS

The retractable dock shelter is the most commonly used system in use today. Offering a relatively high sealing solution to a wide range of vehicle bays and docking yards.

Manufactured with a 60mm x 30mm galvanised steel box section. Cantilevered arms bolted to the back and front side beams are pivoted at each end to allow the shelter to retract against the building in the case of vehicle contact.

Do you offer a service contract for doors?

Yes, we highly recommend that all industrial doors are serviced throughout their lifespan. It is also a requirement under Health and Safety Legislation. Please call for a quote.

Do you provide uPVC doors or garage doors for residential properties?

Unfortunately, no, we are an industrial door company. Our products are roller shutters, automatic doors, and dock leveller/loading bay equipment.

Can you convert a manual door to electric?

Yes, if you have an existing industrial door which is push up or chain up these can be upgraded to electric operation.
What products do KD Doors provide?

We supply, repair, and install all types and makes of industrial doors. Roller Shutters, Sectional Overhead doors, Crash doors, PVC Strip curtains, Automatic entrance doors, Fire Roller Shutters, steel hinged doors, Hanger doors, Dock Levellers and Dock Shelters.
My roller shutter has warning signs on the control panel. What do I do?

Call us and we can advise on the issue and if required, send an emergency engineer.
My roller shutter won’t come down when I press the button

There are various possible faults, a couple of examples are 1) Is there power going to the control panel? If not, there is a possible electrical supply issue. 2) If control panel is working the door could be jammed mechanically. In all circumstances, we always recommend that the door should not be continually tried as this can cause more damage. Please call us and we can attend. We have a success rate of 92% for a first-time fix.
Can I convert my manual roller shutter to electric?

Yes.
Can my door still operate if I have a power cut?

There could be a manual over-ride facility to use. If not, a battery backup can be installed.
My door is sticking as it goes up and down. What can I do?

A door with a motor is still a machine and as such should be maintained at least annually. We recommend all roller shutters are maintained as it helps improve the life span of the door.
I am responsible for a factory with a number of doors that keep failing. Can you help?

We would recommend a service contract.
Can I drive up to the door and get it to open and close automatically?

Yes, provided they have the correct safety devices on the door. These can be added to suit.
My warehouse is very cold, and my heating bill is high, can a new door help?

We can provide an insulated door or a high speed door which can sit behind the existing door. These doors can reduce heat loss.
I run a 24 hour delivery business, can I call KD Doors at anytime?

Yes, we offer a 24 hour call out service 365 days a year.
How fast is your emergency service?

We offer the industry standard and can be with you within 4 hours. (Highland and Islands excluded and subject to weather conditions).
I am not an existing customer of KD Doors could I have an emergency call out?

Yes, although we will require a credit card payment before we can attend site.
Is an emergency call out expensive?

An emergency call out, called out of normal working hours, is more expensive but we believe that KD Doors are very good value for the quality provided.
